Materia Natura · Gardening.

The theme of this year's Milan Design Week is "Materia Natura," emphasizing the profound connection between "material" (Materia) and "nature" (Natura). This theme aims to promote projects focused on sustainable and environmentally friendly solutions, highlighting the intrinsic relationship between "material" and "nature" in design, creative thinking, and planning. It encourages envisioning limitless possibilities for transformation. Building upon previous concepts and themes like "living forms," "between time and space," and "Laboratorio Futuro" (Future Laboratory), all dedicated to a culture of sustainable design.

"Materia Natura" amplifies and deepens this perspective, emphasizing nature's central role as a guiding principle and fundamental value in the creative process and design.

Through "Materia Natura," we aim to increase awareness of the significance of nature in our daily lives and the design field. This theme provides an opportunity to explore and discover multiple dimensions in which nature can serve as a source of inspiration, design material, and a guide for a sustainable future.

The theme for the Asian Art Exhibition at this year's Milan Design Week is "Gardening" aligning with the overarching theme of "Materia Natura" and incorporating elements of Eastern philosophy.

The process of gardening is a contemplative journey within a confined space, exploring the relationships between humans, objects, and nature. It serves as both a speculative endeavor and a meditation, reflecting an artist's state of mind. Through various mediums, artists construct dreams and build their "ideal realms," contributing to the fusion of Eastern philosophy with the overarching theme of Milan Design Week.
